Additional Information

Scientists and experts from industry, universities and institutes are cordially invited to attend the International Conference and to contribute to its scientific program. 


Abstract information

Extended abstracts should be one A4 page long. Please follow the additional instructions for preparing abstracts:

Word processing software: Preferably use Microsoft Word (or equivalent), supported by file extensions .doc or .docx. File should be named with the last name of the presenting author (i.e. Smith.docx)
Page format: A4
Margins: left 2,5 cm; right 2 cm; top 2 cm; bottom 2 cm
Font style: Times New Roman 12 for text, 14 for title and 10 for References. Line spacing should be set to 1.5, and paragraphs should be fully justified. 
Tables and figures: pictures and diagrams will be reproduced in grey scale. They should be easily legible for photographic reproduction.

Authors should specify the topics of their contributions (KM-metallic materials, AM-inorganic materials, P-polymers, VT-vacuum technique, NN-nanosciences and nanotechnologies). For young scientists (doctoral students) is to be added “MR” for all the topics.

Abstracts will be printed in the Book of abstracts in the above demanded style.

Each registered participant may have only one oral or poster presentation, but he/she can be co-author in another presentation of registered participant.

Technical exhibition of materials, equipment and scientific literature will be held simultaneously with the Conference. Compartments of 2 m x 3 m with a table and two chairs will be available. They will be in front of conference halls.
Price: 500 EUR (for 3 days, obligatory installation before conference)


Conference languages are Slovene and English. 

Oral presentations

Oral presentations are scheduled for invited lecturers, contributed papers and for young researcher, as following: 40 minutes are for presentations of plenary papers, 20 minutes for invited lecturers, and 15 minutes for presentation of other papers, including the time for discussion. Available time for young researchers’ presentations is 10 minutes. 
Overhead projector and computer for presentation will be available. The presentation should preferably be prepared in Powerpoint 2007 (.pptx, .ppt, ...) or in PDF format. 
Presentations should be uploaded on the computer available for presentations during breaks in order to avoid delays. 

Poster presentation

Poster board area is 1.2 m high and 1 m wide. The size of lettering must enable to read text and drawings from a distance of 1.5 meter. The title of the paper and the list of authors, along with the addresses and affiliations, should be on the top of the poster area. Poster session will accure on Wednesday 17th October 2012. 


Papers presented at Conference can be published in regular issues of Slovenian scientific journal MATERIALS AND TECHNOLOGY in 2012/2013, following standard peer-review procedure. The journal is indexed in the SCI database from 2007. 
The maximum length of published papers is 6 pages (6.000 words) in journal for invited papers and 4 pages (4.000 words) for other papers. 

Additional pages (if required) will be charged at 25 EUR per page.


Manuscripts should be submitted not latter than 1st September 2012 via e-mail.

Social Program

Registered participants will be invited to attend the social event held at Grand Hotel Bernardin after the scientific program. On Thursday, 18th October 2012, a Gala dinner will be organized. Dress code for Gala dinner: business. 


Completed definitive registration form should be sent to the Organizing Committee before 1st September 2012.

The registration fee payment deadline is 1st September 2012. The registration is confirmed when full payment confirmation is received (by e-mail or fax).

All foreigners, non UE citizens, intending to enter Slovenia should provide the documentation required to justify the reason and duration of their stay as well as, in some prescribed cases, the availability of adequate economic means and lodging.
