The 20th Jubilee Conference on Materials and Technology

The 20th Jubilee Conference on Materials and Technology will be traditionally held in Grand Hotel Bernardin in Portorož, Slovenia. Conference continues tradition to be the central international meeting in the research fields of materials and technology in Slovenia.

Conference is meeting of professionals from industry as well as researchers from universities and state institutions that are active in the fields of metallic, inorganic and polymer materials, vacuum technique, nanomaterials and materials for research of fusion. The main goal of the Conference is to establish a dialogue between the needs of industry and the research of academic sphere, and it represents a platform for efficient transfer of knowledge from research institutions to industry.

This year’s Conference highlights will include presentations of important researchers and research group leaders working in the field of materials science on current and future hot topics in this field. A round-table discussion will focus on efficient cooperation between the academia and the industry in Slovenia.

A special section dedicated to students is a long-established tradition of the conference. Young researchers will be given an opportunity to present their works in 10-minute presentations to an international jury panel that will award prizes to the best presentations. Awards:

1st place 600 EUR

2nd place 300 EUR

3rd place 200 EUR

Novelty of this year’s conference is a poster award for the best poster presentation among young participants (younger than 35 years). Best poster award is 200 EUR, sponsored by TA instruments.

The Conference program is available here

The authors are invited to publish the presented papers in the SCI-indexed Journal Materiali in Tehnologije (MIT), following standard peer-review process.

Conference topics:

• Synthesis of advanced metallic, polymeric, ceramic and composite materials
• Mathematical modeling and computer simulation of processes and technologies
• Thermal treatment
• Vacuum technique and technology
• Development of advanced manufacturing technologies
• Corrosion and degradation of materials
• Thin films and surfaces
• Nanosciences and nanotechnologies
